Walking In The FOG….

favor“For surely You bless the righteous, Lord; You surround him with Your favor as with a shield….” Psalm 5:12

Are you walking in the F.O.G. today…? What is the FOG?

Favor

Of

God

This acronym brings a beautiful truth to the forefront as we remember that walking in the cloud of God’s glory realm is to be surrounded with His FAVOR like a shield. What is the favor of God? What is the glory realm? Can we access this glory realm? Absolutely!

A good definition of the word favor is “demonstrated delight.” The favor of God can be described as “tangible evidence that a person has the approval of the Lord.” When we favor someone, we want to be with them. We delight in them. We connect with them in a way we don’t connect with everyone.

The glory realm is the place where God dwells!  It is the place where “we are seated with Him in heavenly places…” (Eph. 2:6)  His Presence is the glory realm.

The favor of God is found and accessed by entering into His Presence. Psalm 100:5 says, “Enter His gates with thanksgiving And His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him, bless His name…”  We see a good example of God’s favor in the life of King David, who was called “a man after God’s own heart.” (1 Sam.13:14) Why? Was it because he was brave? A fierce warrior; a great king? No. It was because he was a worshipper of God! He knew God on an intimate level because he had continual fellowship with Him through praise and worship. This opened access to the continual Presence of God in his life. This is why he became brave; this is why he became a fierce warrior, and a great king!  David’s life was a demonstration of intimacy with the Father. He walked in the F.O.G. because he had the keys to access it.

Our Father God wants this level of intimacy with all of His children, not just a few, select ones.  Wowza! Do you want this kind of favor in your life today? Start each day with praise and worship. Crawl up into the lap  of the Father, wrap your arms around His neck. Lay your head upon His chest, and listen to His heartbeat. Tell Him how much you love Him today, and listen to His response of delight! Take a walk in the FOG with the King today!

Joy and Rest

Rest photo

“Be at rest once more, oh my soul, for the Lord has been good to you.” Psalm 116:7

I awoke this morning to the sound my friend Kathleen’s voice, singing a song in my spirit……  “It is well…. with my soul…..”  Have you heard this song?  It is the modern remake of the old hymn written by Horatio G. Spafford, back in 1873. It was made popular again in recent years, and my favorite version (besides Kathleen, of course! 🙂 ), is by Kristene DiMarco, of Bethel Music… you should check it out if you haven’t already heard it!

Anyway,  my dear friend Kathleen is an awesome and anointed worship leader, who walks in a very powerful gift of “bringing Heaven to earth” as she leads worship. This is exactly what the atmosphere was like this morning as I awoke! The Shalom (peace) of God was manifest in the room. It  was so real to me that I sat up and looked around to see if Kathleen was actually there….. of course, she was not.  I felt a tremendous sense of well-being flood my soul, and I knew that the King was in the room, waiting for me to join Him in singing this song! I quickly got up, and as I continued to sing this song, Holy Spirit began to download His heart for this blog today……

First, Jesus reminded me of Isaiah 61:1, where it says,“This is the year of the favor of the Lord…” I believe that we, the children of God, are living in that hour right now. I believe that this year will bring new levels of physical and emotional  healing to the body of Christ.  From our relationship of intimacy with our King, He is releasing His JOY into the church on a whole new level, and we will actually begin to feel it strengthen us physically! As I was seeing and hearing this, Holy Spirit trumpeted two scriptures into my mind that confirmed this to my heart: Nehemiah 8:10, where Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.”  The second scripture was Proverbs 17:22, which says, “A merry heart does good like a medicine: but a broken spirit dries the bones….”

As I began to meditate upon both of these passages, I was reminded of several days ago, when I told the Lord during our conversation, “I need to fast about this….”, and His immediate response to me was, “Debi, there are times when I call you to fast and pray, but this is not one of them….. instead of a fast, I am calling you to feast….” He then took me to Psalm 23;5, where the psalmist wrote, “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies…..”  I believe that what God is saying right now is that we have now come into the hour of rest, feasting, joy and celebration! There are seasons of warfare, and there are seasons of refreshing and rest. Does this mean all of our circumstances are going to be perfect during this season of joy and rest? No way!  There is still a very real enemy out there, and very intense darkness at work in this world we live in. But His LIGHT shines the BRIGHTEST in the darkness, and this pushes back the forces of evil around us!  He has our back! We can lean back into Him even as the battle rages around us, because He has us in the palm of His hand, and never misses a thing! We can just breathe….. and rest.  And feed on His Word, and drink deeply of His Spirit.. This is what it means to feast in the presence of your enemy”!

Besides the fact that our Father loves us and wants us refreshed, I  believe there is another reason that the Father is releasing both joy and rest upon us right now.  As we enter into both JOY and REST simultaneously, we will be able to do the same things with less effort. He is accelerating our productivity, as we advance His Kingdom on earth. We will experience the ‘unforced rhythms of His grace’ moving within us to accomplish more, in less time.   As His joy strengthens us to do what we need to do, His rest fills us with well-being in the midst of it. As we abide in His rest, the assaults of the enemy become ineffective, null and void. He cannot touch us in this secret place of rest with the King! This is the “secret place of the Most High” spoken in Psalm 91, and just as the song says, we can sing “It is well with my soul!”

The BEST Wine For Last…!

rainbow eagle

“I love the Lord, for He heard my voice; He heard my cry for mercy.  Because He turned His ear to me, I will call on Him as long as I live.” Psalms 116:1-2

Many of you will bear witness to the fact that we have now entered into a season of answered prayer, and are beginning to see long ago promises come to fruition in our lives. Although we are all in different stages of this season, (some at the very threshold, some already experiencing the manifestation and “substance of things hoped for; the evidence of things not seen…”Hebrews 11:1 ), there is truly an expectancy beginning to form within our hearts in this hour. This “spirit of expectancy” is actually beginning to lift us, to propel us to greater heights in our faith than ever before! Even as the thermal currents of an approaching storm causes an eagle to spread his wings and be lifted HIGH ABOVE THE STORM, so the Spirit of God has come to us in this season!

Many of us have just emerged from a recent season of intense warfare, where it seemed we were surrounded by enemies on every side, and chaos seemed to swirl around us like a whirlwind. But did we not also sense the Father telling us to “Be still…”; and “to lift our hands and PRAISE HIM IN THE STORM”?? This act of worship in the midst of the storms of the past season has literally propelled us up and above the strategies and assaults of Hell! We lift our hands to the Father the same way an eagle extends his powerful wings, and locks them into place! We locked ourselves into this posture of worship, and found that we had ascended into the very throne room, when our great King is seated. Psalms 22:3 tells us that God is actually “enthroned upon the praises of His people”! Wowza! Our praise has created a place for Him to sit with us in fellowship and intimacy and protection!

We truly are now “seated with Him in heavenly places”, as He told us was our rightful place in  Ephesians 1:21. What happens when we are looking at our storm from this perspective? We see it from the King’s perspective, which is much different than our natural perspective. We see how much BIGGER Jesus is than the storm! Jesus is MAGNIFIED! We see the One who commanded the storm, and it obeyed Him! We SEE TRUTH! And what did Jesus say would happen when we SEE and KNOW truth? “Then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free…” John 8:32.  FREEDOM happens when the distorted pictures and lies of the enemy are replaced with TRUTH. The smoke and mirrors of the enemy dissipate, and our chains fall off of that answer to our prayers that was being hindered!

The Bible tells us that all of God’s promises are YES and AMEN, in 2 Corinthians 1:20. It says ALL, not some. Many of us have settled for much less than our inheritance as sons and daughters of God, for different reasons. You may have unknowingly embraced  a “lack mentality’, or even a “just enough” attitude toward the things you desire deep down in your heart. Our God is a God of abundance! Do you really believe that? If you don’t, then you don’t believe His Word is true. Jesus tells us in John 10:10,“The enemy comes only to steal, kill and destroy, bit I AM come that you might have LIFE, and life ABUNDANTLY…” That’s pretty clear, beloved! I think all of us would agree that the enemy does steal, kill and destroy! But what about the second half of that verse?

Are you living abundantly in every area of life? Spirit? Soul? Body? Many of us have never really grabbed ahold of God’s truth concerning what He purchased back for you through the cross. That in itself is manna for another day…!

If you’re like I was, you may have thought that because of your many mistakes, that you had forfeited the promises of God in your life; that you had consequently moved from plan A to plan B in God’s plan for your destiny. I thought that, and settled for the crumbs under the table. Like the prodigal son, I was just thankful that the Father was waiting at the end of the road, waiting for me with His arms wide open….. and He WAS, indeed! But you know what He did? He took off His signet ring and put it upon my finger….. (Luke 15:22) He took off His best garment and covered me with His righteousness! (Isaiah 61:10)  And that wasn’t all! He then “prepared a table for me in the presence of my enemies….” (Psalm 23:5) He made my enemy, the accuser of the brethren, WATCH, while I feasted at the King’s table! He poured me some of His BEST WINE, which He had saved for the last, and bade me to drink deeply from this perfectly aged vintage that He had saved just for me! (John 2:10) And lastly, He spoke to the question that was buried deep within my heart…. He said,“My daughter, I KNEW that you would indeed make the choices that you made along your journey in this life….and though some of them have caused both you and I great pain, I made provision for you. I paid the purchase for your redemption and FULL restoration of that which was lost and stolen. …..I don’t have a plan B, Beloved. You have always been on plan A.”

Tears!! What do you say to that kind of LOVE? I was, and still AM, overwhelmed! I sense that He is saying the same thing to many of you today, beloved. You are still on plan A, and about to see the very promises that you have carried for so long in your heart come to fulfillment! He has saved the BEST wine for you in this hour!

Courage….. For Such A Time As This!

Breath in Courage Lion

“For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?” Esther 4:14

I was in prayer this morning, and was shown a vivid picture of  a fork in the river; a place where the water flows in 2 directions….. After praying into this, I believe that many of God’s children have been brought to a place of CHOOSING. Right or left? One choice is wide, the other is narrow….. one direction is easy to navigate; the other is a bit daunting!

God has created us to be so much more than what most of us settle for. When He created us in His image, He gave us the heart of a LION. What does it mean to be Lion~hearted? Many of us have read Lisa Bevere’s book, “Lioness Arising”, and I, myself, have also done an intense study on the nature and characteristics of a lion.  A lion will confront is enemy without backing up. A lion is fully aware of His authority in the jungle. The ROAR of a lion can be heard and actually can be felt for up to 5 miles away. His SOUND literally changes the atmosphere, as it causes other predators to take cover.

Proverbs 28:1 tells us, “The wicked man flees though no one is pursuing him; but the righteous are as BOLD AS A LION.”  I Chron. 12:8 tells us that King David and his men “had the faces of a lion” when they went to battle. Why? Again, Queen Esther had to make a life or death choice, when she went before the king in Esther 4. This took extreme courage! Do we even KNOW what that kind of courage looks like?  Why do you suppose that Jesus is depicted as the “Lion of Judah”? Why is that one of the facets of His nature?

I believe it is because God created lions to be a demonstration of COURAGE. We can look at the life of Jesus and see that while He walked this earth, He was never timid or afraid. He was a confronter! He was also humble, yes ~ but that only means that He kept His strength in check, and used it only for the glory of the Father. Even as Jesus went to the cross as the Lamb who would be sacrificed for our sin, He WAS the Lion! That walk to Calvary took every ounce of courage He had!

Are you facing something today that requires you to choose courage? Has the enemy shown you an easy way out? Take a moment, and REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE! Just like Mufasa to Simba in “The Lion King”, your Father is whispering to your heart right now, “My child, REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE!”

Who are you? If you are a born-again believer, you are the child of God! You have that same Jesus, the Lion of Judah living on the inside of you! Can you hear His ROAR on the inside of you? There is nothing more dangerous to Hell than a lion or lioness that has been fully awakened to who they are, and what they can do! Daniel 11:32 tells us that “those who KNOW THEIR GOD shall be strong and do exploits…”

Knowing who God is on the inside of you makes all the difference between courage and fear.

Rise up and choose COURAGE today  ~ and do great things in the Kingdom!

Boundaries

safety

“Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.” Psalm 37:3

Did you know that God has put boundaries around each one of us? Just as we set perimeters and borders around our children to keep them safe, God does the same for us. I was reminded of this very thing earlier today, while praying over a dream my friend Karissa had last night. I have her permission to share the dream:

In the dream, Karissa and a group of friends were on their way back to their church, but they had missed their exit off the freeway, and had ended up in a dark, wooded and unfamiliar place. When they got out of the car, a big snake lunged out at Karissa and one of her friends. Karissa grabbed a stick, and started swinging it at the snake. She was finally able to hit the snake really hard, and it stunned it long enough for them to get away.

As I prayed over this dream, Holy Spirit reminded me that there are times that He will send us into new territory to plow up new ground, to pioneer a new work of God, or to engage the enemy and take ground for the Kingdom. But at these times, we must be going because He sent us. Like Jesus, we must “only do what the Father is doing…” John 5:19 There are many instances in scripture where God sent His people to engage in battle, and He gave them great victories. But there are other times, when He told them not to engage the enemy, because He wasn’t sending them at that time. or to that place. One such instance is found in Numbers 14:41-43. Moses told the people not to go out and attack the Amalekites and the Canaanites, because God was not sending them. They went anyway, and it was disastrous!

There are times in our lives, such as in Karissa’s dream mentioned above, that we find ourselves in unfamiliar or new territory, and experience sudden attacks of the enemy, from the territorial spirits over that region. I have had such encounters before, and know firsthand how sudden these attacks can be. This happened to me on my first trip to Oahu, Hawaii. Like Karissa, I was caught off guard, and used my “stick”, the sword of the Spirit, to battle this vicious attack.  However, I learned a valuable lesson through that experience. I learned that while I may have been “on vacation” in the natural realm, I am never “on vacation” in the spirit realm! I must always have my armor in place, and be aware and tuned into my spiritual surroundings. Does this mean that we can never go on vacation? Of course not, (unless God has told you not to go ~ lol! :). We just need to be aware and prepared. This is part of our Kingdom culture, which includes growing in our wisdom of spiritual warfare.

King David, who took much ground for Israel in battle, was also the one who wrote about the joy and satisfaction that came from staying with his God-given territory.Lord, You have assigned me my portion and my cup; You have made my lot secure. The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance!”

More than ever before, it is crucial that we be tuned in to the voice of the King, and stay within the safe boundaries of the territory He has assigned to us. As we are faithful to do that, He will ENLARGE our territory before us, and give us great victory in the land!

Water Walkers

King of GLORY!

“Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water…” Matt. 14:28

As I was reading this passage this morning, the King nudged me, and said, “I LOVE Water Walkers!” I heard His deep-throated chuckle and sensed His great pleasure as He said this! Holy Spirit compelled me to look deeper into this faith~gift He has given to each of us. Like any gift, it is special to the Giver when we use it! He is absolutely DELIGHTED when we use our faith! In fact, Hebrews 11:6 tells us that we cannot please Him without it! And He ALWAYS meets us at the place of our faith!

As I write this, I sense that many of you, like me, have been brought to this place time and again, where we have to choose to step out on the water, and trust God to keep us from drowning. I believe there are 2 KEYS to making this choice….

The first KEY is found in the above scripture, where Peter says to Jesus, “Lord, IF it’s You…..” We must determine that going in! IS it Jesus telling us to step out in this area? Jesus tells us earlier in this book of Matthew, chapter 7:9, “Which of you, if your son asks you for bread, will give him a stone?” We can be very sure that if we ask God to confirm that this step is truly of Him ~ He WILL do it! He is the God “who opens doors that no man can shut, and shuts doors that no man can open…”! (Rev. 3:7)

I believe that we, as His beloved Bride are even now stepping into a new dimension of our faith walk with the King. This dimension is a lifestyle of faith; 24/7 365 days a year. It is a CRUCIAL position for us to be living from in this day and this hour! This realm of faith can only be accessed through complete surrender to the will and purposes of God in our lives, and the sincerity of a heart that says, “I will do what You have asked, Lord .” We can truly say from our hearts like queen Esther did, “If I perish, I perish…..”

We must be willing to leave the results to God.  However, we can look again at the rest of the story with Peter….. Jesus met him at the place of his faith!  Only when he took his eyes off of Jesus did he begin to sink. And even in that, Jesus did not let Peter drown! I believe  that Jesus was so THRILLED with Peter in that moment!! Out of all the disciples in the boat, Peter was the only one who stepped out on the water…. wowza!! This kind of faith takes us to the second KEY to becoming a Water Walker….

To find the second KEY, we must go back to the words of Jesus in Luke 14:28, telling us to “count the cost”.…. what does it cost to follow Jesus? Our salvation cost us NOTHING, but following Him will cost us EVERYTHING.

Are you willing to abandon your own hopes and dreams, and lay them at His feet today? Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord. “Plans to prosper you and not to harm you; plans to give you a hope and a future.” This speaks of your destiny; that unique and specific Kingdom purpose you were CREATED for! If you are willing, you will step out of the boat onto the waters of your destiny; His perfect plan for you!

Will you be a Water Walker in the Kingdom? Get ready for an adventure with the King!

Enjoy the journey, beloved!

When The Waters Recede….

Receding waters

Psalm 46:10 “Be still, and know that I am God….”

This morning as my husband and I were deep in prayer regarding many recent trials and attacks upon some of our brothers and sisters in Christ, I was all at once shown a picture in my spirit of a beach where the waters were receding……

I knew the Lord was speaking to me through this, and as I prayed into it, He spoke to my heart, “Many times, My people experience just the OPPOSITE of what they are contending for in prayer, and become confused and angry. The very ground they have taken seems to have shifted, and they feel as if they are moving backwards instead of forward. This is called the ‘receding of the waters’….  Right before a tidal wave hits, there is a receding of the waters in the VERY PLACE it is going to hit! Many of My people have experienced the ‘shakings’ that I have told them would take place. Just as an earthquake causes tidal waves to form, so My shaking has created a TIDAL WAVE of MY GLORY and POWER that is about to hit My people in the very areas they have been contending for in prayer! This is the time to STAND FIRM as never before! This is the time to be still and KNOW THAT I AM GOD! This is the time to stand and SEE THE SALVATION OF GOD!”

The Lord confirmed this through His Word later this morning during my devotions. First in the Old testament, in Exodus 14, where the Israelites had experienced a mighty deliverance from Egypt, but were trapped by the Red Sea in front of them, and Pharaoh behind them.  It looked like all was lost! But God told them to STAND STILL…. and they saw the salvation of God! Again, in the New testament, Acts chapters 1 & 2, where the disciples were all in fear and confusion, wondering what would happen to them. However, they did what Jesus told them to do. They stayed in Jerusalem, and waited for what He had promised them would come….. and IT DID!!!!

He gave me even one more confirmation this morning….. I received a message from one of my spiritual daughters, and this was it:

“Do you ever have this abnormal CALM BEFORE THE STORM feeling lately…. like something BIG is about to be released???”

Faithful God!!!!! “Stand still and see the salvation of God…!” Exodus 14:13
